Making Plans

Where has the week gone! While the days at work seemed to drag on this week my evenings at home were busy. I’m glad its Friday, but I’m not really sure where the rest of the week went. For those of you who are friends with me on Facebook, you know that the past three weekends I have traveled north to my parents for showers, weddings, parties, etc… Can I just tell you  how excited I am to get to stay home this weekend! All week I’ve really been looking forward to doing some much needed cleaning (CALL ME CRAZY).

During the week my housework is basically dishes when the sink is overflowing and laundry when I have no clean clothes; other than that I prefer to clean on the weekends. However, since I’ve been gone the past three weekends, not much has gotten done around the house – and it shows!

Tonight, K wants to have a date night so we are going to go out for dinner, probably either Texas Roadhouse or Mi Jalepeno; then its off to the drive-in! I had never experienced a drive-in theater until K and I started dating. They are quite enjoyable and if you’ve never been I highly recommend it! Like the grown adults we are, we will be watching Monsters University. Last time we went to the drive in we saw Despicable Me (another child friendly movie).

Tomorrow though, I will begin a thorough (hopefully) cleaning/laundry day. I also plan to make some pickles. This will be a new adventure for me, but according to the Ball Canning website, it should only take 15 minutes to process the jars, and I probably only have enough pickling cucumbers for two jars. I will post some picture/updates!

Monday Moments

I forgot to do my Sunday Stills post last night, so I’m doing it today!

Mid Week Check-in

In my Sunday Stills Post from this week I said I wanted to be more motivated for the week ahead so I thought I would do a quick check-in. I was tempted to call this post “Hump-Day Happenings” but wasn’t sure if that too…risque? Ha! Maybe if I continually post on “Hump-Day” I can call it that 😉

My week so far has been going pretty good in terms of fitness/exercise/food. I wrote out a schedule on my calendar of workouts and a couple running/jogging goals. So far I have completed each workout I wrote down…but this evening will be a true test. Today I have schedule to go to the bike trail after work and do a one mile run/jog/walk. Thanks to the inspiration of my VBCF (Very Best Cousin Forever) I am going to push and see just how far I can run/jog without stopping. Once I do that I will go home and eat, then do my Chalean Extreme(CLX) Burn Circuit 2. I have a feeling I’m going to tired after both of those… My muscles are sore from CLX Burn Circuit 1 so I know that I will be feeling sore tomorrow!

As far as food goes, I have been trying really hard this week to stay on track and log all my meals. The past 2 days I have logged my meals in MFP (My Fitness Pal) and been under my calorie goals. Also I’ve been on a salad kick lately so that is definitely helping my caloric intake. I’ve also been cutting back on the amount of dressing on my salads. I would say I’m almost at a point where I want to taste the lettuce and veggies more so I don’t feel the need to cover it up with dressing. I have found that Kraft Lite House Italian and Kraft Lite Parmesean Asiago Balsamic Vinegarette are my go to dressings now instead of ranch! This is a shock to me; I used to only use ranch and put it on everything!  What are your favorite dressings for salad? I’ve been trying to find some good recipes to make my own but haven’t found one I love yet. 

Now, there is one area that I haven’t been motivated on…HOUSEWORK! I need the cleaning fairy to come and do my dishes and fold laundry! Any volunteers? Anyone? ANYONE? Ok fine, be that way! I will just do it myself (sometime)…

Oh and I almost forgot; we harvested the first goodies er, veggies from the garden this week. Our radishes are getting huge and are ready to eat. I don’t like them so hopefully K eats lots of them. I also plan to take some  home to my mom and gma because they love them!

 Sunday stills take about five minutes to write – it’s my intentional way to ponder the week that has passed and to prep for the week to come. It’s a single print out of the busy cycle of life, a pause, a way to plan, and to remember to breathe in the midst of the everyday.

Old Habits Die Hard

Whats that saying about old habits dieing hard? I’m definitely feeling that right now! Lately I have caught myself falling back into some old ways regarding my diet/lifestyle. For a few months I was kicking butt and lost about 35lbs, but now I’m feeling a little burnt out on workouts and healthy food. I’m guessing I’m not alone in this and that everyone goes through this at some point…at least I hope! At work I catch myself going out to that pesky vending machine and getting snacks instead of packing healthy ones. I’ve also worked some wine and those darn Budlight Lime-a-ritas into my weekends. Oh, and all those carry-ins we have at work? Yea, those are getting harder and harder to resist!

Now don’t get me wrong, having off days is normal and I’m not trying to completely ban those things from my life. I personally can just feel that I’m not staying true to my lifestyle change and its bugging me. But I tend to be an emotional eater (ugh!) so I’m feeling bad about not following my lifestyle change so what do I do…eat a cookie, or drink a pop, or stop at Taco Bell!?!? I know its not the right thing to do and I wish I could be the type of person that wants to workout when they are angry but I’m just not there yet.

As a Beachbody Coach I feel like I’m supposed to be all fitness and health all the time, but thats just not happening right now. But, with the help of the Shakeology drinks and workout programs, I know I can get there.

Writing this post is serving as my confession and I know that once I get all this fitness anger/emotion/crappy-ness out, I will be able to get back on track! These darn lifestyle changes are not an easy thing to do and they take time, especially when you love food. Some of you have probably never had to do something like this and those that have know what I mean!  Luckily for me, I have a large support group of friends, family and co-workers who keep me motivated.
